Who We Are

The International Institute for Ecological Agriculture is dedicated to healing the planet while providing for the human community—by education and implementation of socially just, ecological, resource-conserving forms of agriculture, the basis of all sustainable societies.

The IIEA was founded in 1993 by Farmer David Blume as a nonprofit organization focused on promoting permaculture and alternative fuels. The people who work at the International Institute for Ecological Agriculture have diverse interests and talents that help this organization thrive.

The instructors associated with IIEA and our permaculture courses and workshops are unique in that they actually DO permaculture for a living and present at our courses and conferences as a sideline (instead of vice versa, as is usually the case).

The diverse Advisory Board to the International Institute for Ecological Agriculture helps us develop programs to meet the growing needs of our students and our planet!
